Royal Caribbean Cleared of Wrongdoing in Toddler Death Case
Yesterday, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeal sent the wrongful death case against Royal Caribbean Cruises back to the lower court for further proceedings. The case was originally filed by Salvatore Sam Anello, the man whose toddler granddaughter fell to her death out of a cruise ship window in 2019.
The appeals court ruled that the lower court had erred in granting summary judgment to Royal Caribbean. The appeals court found that there was a genuine dispute of material fact as to whether Royal Caribbean was negligent in its supervision of the child. The case will now proceed to trial.
