A History of Service
The Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) has been the Department of the Air Force's major investigative service since August 1, 1948. As a US Federal law enforcement agency, AFOSI reports directly to the Secretary of the Air Force.
Field Operations
AFOSI is a field operating agency with headquarters at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland. It has been the Air Force's primary investigative organization, providing professional investigative support to commanders of all Air Force activities.
