The highly anticipated prequel to the Mad Max franchise, Furiosa, has been delayed once again. The film, which was originally scheduled to be released on June 23, 2023, will now hit theaters on May 24, 2024.

Warner Bros. Pictures confirmed the delay in a statement, citing production delays as the reason.

"We are committed to making Furiosa the best film it can be, and we believe that this additional time will allow us to deliver a truly epic and unforgettable experience for fans," the statement said.

Furiosa stars Anya Taylor-Joy as the titular character, a young woman who will grow up to become the warlord Imperator Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron in the Mad Max: Fury Road film.

The film also stars Chris Hemsworth as Dementus, a warlord who rules over The Citadel, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as The Colonel, a ruthless and violent tyrant.

Furiosa is directed by George Miller, who also directed the Mad Max: Fury Road film.

The delay of Furiosa is a disappointment for fans who have been eagerly awaiting the film, but it is also a sign that Warner Bros. Pictures is committed to making the film the best it can be.

With an all-star cast and a director who has a proven track record of making great films, Furiosa is sure to be worth the wait.
